‘Backyard folk from the Pacific Northwest’ is the most succinct description of Rabbit Wilde‘s music, but it’s not complete. It doesn’t capture how happy this band is. This Bellingham band takes great joy in making music, and when they perform it’s infections.
Voted best band in Bellingham by readers of Cascadia Weekly for the last 3 years running (despite a couple name changes along the way) Rabbit Wilde is now poised to release their Sophomore album—The Heartlands.
All 4 members of the band grew up here in Bellingham, but it wasn’t until brothers Zach and Nathan Hammer met Miranda Zickler in New York City, that the group started making music together. When they added cellist Jillian Walker the group found a unique string-centric sound that’s well suited for the joyful ballads that have become their bread and butter.
Keep an eye on Rabbit Wilde because they’re new album is turning heads among national music media. By this time next year they might be the favorite band in more than just their home town.
