Each year Sustainable Connections hosts a competition to enliven an underused and underappreciated section of Bellingham. It’s called KAPOW!
Last year’s winner, probably the most notable success story, was the Commercial Street Night Market. The event brings joy, commerce, and fun on Friday nights to the nook of sidewalk beside the parkade on Commercial Street.
This year the focus is State Street, and after receiving twenty-five applications, eight finalists will present their ideas at Mount Baker Theatre on April 21.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the winner’s efforts to bring their idea into fruition.
