::f o u n d:: leather goods is the work of 2 Bellingham women—Nicki Lang and Leah Macaleer. Together they produce hand-made leather bags and accessories with lots of attention paid to quality craftsmanship (craftwomanship?) and the natural beauty of leather. On their website they explain that each product is made by hand when it is ordered, but their many fans believe the unique quality is worth the wait.
One of the markers of a healthy and vibrant local economy is exports—things made locally that are sold globally. ::f o u n d:: Leather Goods is one of several new Bellingham-based businesses that are doing just that. And there seems to be a high concentration of such businesses in the 100 year-old building on Harris Street that ::f o u n d:: calls home.
