Residents of Colombia, Birchwood and Cordata no longer have to cross town for Bellingham-class outdoor recreation.

The playground is undoubtedly this park’s crown jewel. It has all the things that a parent wants (safe, well-lit spaces with clean restrooms and benches with views of the play area), and all the things a child wants (unique equipment and lots of other kids to play with). And if you haven’t heard—there’s a zipline. And it rocks.

There aren’t as many off-leash areas in Bellingham as you might expect, but the dog park at Squalicum Creek offers a great one. It’s fenced, and has just the right mix of open space and obstacles to explore.

Softball fields and a basketball court round out the park’s amenities. There are water fountains aplenty to keep you hydrated while you play.

Trails spider out from the park, connecting it to Cornwall Park, Birchwood Park, the Bay to Baker Trail, or Downtown.
