Though Seattle and Vancouver host the nearest professional sports teams, Bellingham has a strong collection of semi-professional adult sports to help scratch your itch for competition.
Soccer | Bellingham United Football Club
Founded by 100 original members in 2013, Bellingham United FC was instrumental in launching the Evergreen Premier League, an elite men’s soccer league for college and post-college players. Grassroots clubs like Bellingham United signal America’s growing love for the beautiful game.
Football | Bellingham Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are deeply invested in the Bellingham community, partnering with a variety of local causes like Rebound of Whatcom County, the Habitat for Humanity, Brigid Collins, and more.
Roller Derby | Roller Betties
These ladies are tough! 2016 will bring the 9th season of flat-track roller derby to Bellingham. If you’ve never experienced one of the Betties’ bouts, you should try it. Be warned though, you’ll probably be hooked after that.
Hockey | Bellingham Blazers
The 2013 and 2014 NPHL Cascade Cup Champions play their home games at the Bellingham Sportsplex. Several players have made stops in Bellingham on their way to a career in the NHL.
Baseball | Bellingham Bells
Bellingham’s richest sports tradition is probably in baseball. Legends like Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martinez, Raul Ibanez, Bud Black and Omar Vizquel all played minor league ball here. The Bells, a collegiate summer baseball team, are continuing that rich tradition of great play with league championship as recently as 2014.
