Brothers Lance and Chris Canfield design some of the best mountain bikes available on the market today. Though their components are manufactured in Taiwan, and loved by world-class riders all over the world, the brothers chose Bellingham’s Iron Gate neighborhood as their headquarters.
The brothers like to call their company, “rider owned.” Each model is designed to be the best bike on the market, and manufactured in small runs, and tested extensively on Bellingham’s vast network of trails. This attention to quality and performance means Canfield bikes often command five figure price tags.
Bellingham affords the brothers access to a wide variety of terrain on which to test their designs, and a strong base of local customers.
The Canfield aren’t native to Bellingham, or even the Pacific Northwest. They moved here in 2012 at the urging of Sales Director, Vin Quenneville who calls Bellingham a, “mecca of mountain biking.” That is high praise from someone who moved here from Killington, VT.
