College football returns next week, and the NFL regular season won’t be far behind, so here’s your roundup of Bellingham’s best venues for taking in a football game.

McKay’s—Home to arguably the best New York style pizza in town, and an impressive lineup of 63 different beers, McKay’s boasts a great football atmosphere. And it’s open later than almost any place in town, so the party doesn’t have to end when the games are done for the day.

Hops ‘n Headz—This Northwest Avenue establishment is a converted sushi joint. It has all the things you want from a sports bar«expansive tap list, good food, tons of TVs—and a bit more. Your non-football-watching friends will be glad for the mini-golf course in the beer garden.

Boundary Bay—A Bellingham classic, Boundary Bay fills up whenever the Hawks play. Who are we kidding, Boundary is always full, but on game days it’s full of blue and green jerseys.

The Copper Hog—Thought it’s best known as a soccer venue, this gastropub cannot be left off this list. If you’re looking for more gourmet food experience with the the same freedom to shout at the TV, Copper Hog might be for you.
